You sit there in the park, no where to go. Well, that's not entirely true, you could go back to Yao. You shake your head, suddenly, that's not an option, shouldn't even be considered. For some shock therapy you look at the bruises and scares up and down your arms to remind you why that's not an option. You put your hands in your head, trying to stop shaking and crying.
"(Name)?" A soft voice made you look up. It was Kiku, your best friend. You hadn't seen him for a year and a half, because Yao got particularly jealous of the quiet man. He winced when you looked up and him and you knew that it was the bruises on your face no longer covered with your usual make-up.
"I left," That's all you seem to be able to say and all Kiku needs to hear. He sits down next to you and pulls your head on his shoulder. Now there's no stopping your tears and all you can do is cry. In the back of your mind you know that Kiku isn't a fan of getting dirty and you move slightly away from him.
*Tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow*
"I'm.....ruining your shirt," You choke out. You take a few deep breaths but it doesn't help. All those years of holding in your tears. Yao hated you more when you cried, so you learned not to, but now after holding it in so long, all the tears kept coming. Kiku put his arm around you and you relaxed next to him.
"Tell me," Kiku said softly. He had always been a man of little words, only saying what he needed too and you respected that.
*I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world*
"It's just so crazy," You start, "It was fine at first, everything was fine. Then he.......hit me," Kiku nods for you to continue. "He was sorry at first and then it happened again and again......." You trailed off, but Kiku knew the rest. Even though you couldn't see him, he watched and looked after you. He knew it wasn't you who didn't want to see him, but Yao. Yao hated him for a long time, he hated that you and Kiku were so close.
*And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had*
"I wished I was dead sometimes, no all the time," you say softly. This was the first time you ever said it out loud, but it was so true. Immediately, Kiku grabbed you and faced you with the most serious face you'd ever seen. Kiku was always know to be calm and somber, but not his face was so dead grave that you couldn't look anywhere else.
"Promise me, you will never wish for that again, ever," he said, no longer his usual calm emotionless voice, it was now filled with worry and fear.
"What's this?" came a cruel voice and you both turned to see Yao sneering down at you. You started shaking again, but Kiku stood up to Yao and got in his face.
"You will leave her alone, never see her, never talk to her, never tough her again," he said in a dark, angry voice. Yao just laughed and glared at Kiku.
"She's not yours, she's mine and I can do whatever I want to her," Yao laughed viciously. You stood up at this.
"I am not yours," you say, "I don't not belong to you, not anymore. I left and you need to just.....deal! Leave me alone!" you scream at him. Yao's fury shows on his face and he raises his arm to hit you, but it never comes. Kiku grabbed his arm and glared at him.
"I told you not to touch her," Kiku growled, then he flipped Yao on his back. You took Kiku's hand and smiled at him. You mouthed a silent 'thank you' to him and just walk away, leaving all that pain and craziness behind.
*It's a very, very mad world ... mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world*
